"Buckingham Palace confirms that the queen has today tested positive for Covid," the Palace said in a statement. "Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms. However, she will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines."
The Queen's diagnosis comes days after she completed her first in-person engagement, given that she is returning to Windsor.
For the 95-year-old Queen, covid is undoubtedly a high threat. But, ever the hard worker, Q.E.II continues to perform "light tasks" at Windsor Castle.
From all signs and reports, the Queen is completely vaccinated. The Queen has had a rough go health-wise over the last year. She's been hospitalized-- although the Palace never ever stated why. She also sprained her back, which sidelined her from attending a big U.N. conference. A few days ago, she was seen with a walking cane, slightly joking about her health battles.
The Queen's not the only one in her family to be hit by COVID ... Her eldest son, Prince Charles, who had tested positive with his 2nd bout for a little more than a week earlier, now tested negative. Camilla also tested positive.
The Queen marked the 70th anniversary of her accession to the throne on Feb. 5 at her country estate, Sandringham. In a statement issued that day, she said she hoped that Camilla would be known as Queen when Charles succeeded her.
