The mother of two, Eliza Fletcher, 34, smiled at the camera in this snapshot with her family.
JTFMax:
Billionaire heiress Eliza Fletcher (34) from Memphis (US state of Tennessee) met her killer while jogging!
The teacher (married, two children) comes from a wealthy home and is the granddaughter of billionaire businessman Joseph Orgill III († 80, made among other things in the tool). She went for a jog shortly after 4 o'clock on Friday and disappeared!
Filmed by surveillance camera: Fletcher set out for a jog at four in the morning
Police are confident that Cleotha Abston (38), who has a criminal record, forced the teacher into his SUV near the university campus, abducted her - and murdered her!
The suspect in a US police mugshot: Cleotha Abston (38) is in custody on suspicion of murder
The evidence against him weighs heavily: surveillance cameras filmed the criminal attacking the teacher. In addition, the police seized the victim's sandals with his DNA at the crime scene. Later, witnesses saw Abston cleaning his SUV. He was arrested and is in custody.
The victim initially remained missing. Police searched for Eliza Flechter for three days with a large posse, dogs, and a helicopter. Then, around 5 p.m. Monday, officers made a grisly discovery near the abduction site and discovered a body. Today, Tuesday, police tweeted, "The deceased is 34-year-old Eliza Fletcher."
Investigators announced that Cleotha Abston is under investigation for first-degree murder and kidnapping.
The killer is a repeat offender: Abston was convicted of kidnapping in 2001. At that time, he had dragged attorney Kemper Durand into his car to withdraw money from his account with him. A security guard intervened in front of the ATM. Abston fled but was apprehended and convicted a short time later.
"I was fortunate to escape Cleotha Abston," Durand testified as a witness. "I would likely have been killed had I not escaped."
Durand died in 2013, seven years before Abston was released in November 2020. Cleotha Abston went unpunished in the last two years until now.
