He just wanted to eat a burger; then shots were fired ...
Because he apparently mistook him, a police officer in San Antonio (Texas) fired ten shots at a teenager standing in his car in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant and just wanting to eat a burger.
The shooting occurred several days ago, but only now released footage of the officer's body cam shows the extent of the senseless shooting.
In the video, the officer can be seen approaching the parked car, yanking open the driver's door, and ordering the 17-year-old behind the wheel to get out. The teenager is chewing a bite of his burger, visibly startled.
When the teen, apparently in shock, suddenly starts the car and backs up to drive away, the cop opens fire, firing at the speeding vehicle ten times in a row. Some bullets hit the teenager; reportedly, he suffered multiple gunshot wounds and had to be taken to the hospital in critical condition.
As it turned out later, the officer was on duty due to a complaint of a disturbance at the fast food restaurant. He had approached the parked car because a similar car had escaped from him the day before, and he assumed it was the same.
In fact, the teenager had nothing to do with the incident; he was completely innocent! He was initially charged with fleeing arrest and assaulting a police officer, but those charges were immediately dropped.
After viewing the bodycam footage and the fact that he had shot at a completely innocent man, the cop was summarily fired.
