Palm Springs Women in Film and Television, abbreviated as PSWIFT, hosted a Holiday Gala at Villa Portofina on December 12th. This event marked the celebration of over 20 years of PSWIFT’s presence in the Coachella Valley. Attendees brought toys to donate for Christmas and participated in a large raffle. Andrew Krasny served as the emcee for the evening. The event featured lively performances by the P-Swifties, who entertained guests with popular Christmas carols. Patti Gribow, Andrea Carter, and Elli Tourje impressed the crowd with their singing, performing individual solos, duets, and together as a trio.

PSWIFT operates as a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting its members in the fields of Entertainment, New Media, and the Creative Arts. Its mission focuses on fostering new and inspiring productions in the Valley while offering scholarships to students pursuing careers in film, television, and the arts.
During the Gala, a video was presented featuring two former scholarship recipients discussing the financial challenges of obtaining essential equipment, including cameras, lenses, software, and transportation costs necessary to meet their fundamental requirements. The funds from scholarships, along with hands-on experience, are invaluable.

Additionally, PSWIFT runs the Filmmakers Lab, which has successfully produced several acclaimed short films. Another initiative, Book Pals, allows volunteers and celebrities to read weekly to schoolchildren. The organization holds monthly meetings for networking and idea exchange, and regularly invites distinguished speakers, filmmakers, and artists. This network is ideal for anyone aspiring to make a career in film, television, or the arts.
