DLNews Oscars 2025:
Hollywood’s favorite adventurer is sitting this one out. Just days after being announced as a presenter at the 97th Academy Awards, Harrison Ford had to cancel his appearance due to a sudden case of shingles. According to People, the diagnosis came on Friday, and by Saturday, his team had informed the Academy that he wouldn’t be able to take the stage.
Harrison Ford (82) was supposed to present an award at the Oscars on Sunday. However, he is unable to attend due to illness.
But before fans start worrying about their favorite whip-cracking legend, there's good news—Ford is reportedly doing well. Just last Sunday, he was in high spirits at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, proving that even at 81, he’s still got that star power. While it remains unknown who will step in to replace him at the Oscars, one thing’s for sure: the show will go on and be as dazzling as ever.
With a lineup of presenters that reads like a Hollywood dream team—Selena Gomez, Lily-Rose Depp, Oprah Winfrey, Sterling K. Brown, Ana de Armas, Ben Stiller, Goldie Hawn, and past Oscar winners Robert Downey Jr., Cillian Murphy, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, and Emma Stone—the star wattage will be at full force.

As the Academy gears up for its biggest night, all eyes turn to the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, where golden statuettes, standing 34 cm tall and weighing 3.85 kg of bronze covered in 24-karat gold, will be handed out across 23 categories. As tradition dictates, after the glitz, glamour, and emotional speeches, each Oscar will get its final touch—the winner’s name engraved on its base, securing their place in Hollywood history.
Harrison Ford may be missing from the action this time, but the magic of the Oscars will shine on. And knowing Ford, he’ll be back on his feet in no time—probably piloting a plane, cracking a joke, or saving the galaxy. Get well soon, Indy!
