According to reports, Ray Liotta, the legendary star known for his career-defining performance in crime traditional "Goodfellas," passed away in his sleep while filming a movie in the Dominican Republic. He was 67.

Liotta, who also starred in the seriously acclaimed movie "Field of Dreams," had been shooting the upcoming flick "Dangerous Waters" on the island before he passed away. His rep, Jennifer Craig, confirmed to the Hollywood Press reporter. 

His cause of death and other details were not immediately known Thursday.

According to the outlet, his fiancé, podcaster and business owner Jacy Nittolo, 47, had been with him on the motion picture shoot when he died. The pair got engaged around Christmas 2020.

The last known image of the star shows the actor holding Nittolo's hand as they headed to an early dinner at Spruzzo, an Italian restaurant in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, on May 1.

Known for his icy blue eyes and tough-guy persona, the New Jersey-born actor was renowned for his role in the 1990 Martin Scorcese flick, "Goodfellas," where he played mob rat Henry Hill, alongside co-stars Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci.

However, in reality, Liotta was a gentle guy who had never really been in a fight.

" I do not go around beating people up," Liotta told The Post in October 2021. "I've never been in a fight. I avoid it at all expenses."

Liotta initially made a splash in the Jonathan Demme-directed motion picture "Something Wild," making him a Golden World nomination in 1987.

In 2005, he won a Primetime Emmy for his guest function on ER as an alcoholic ex-con, Charlie Metcalf, who concerned the hospital with a cirrhosis-related disease.

He also appeared in the motion pictures "Police officer Land," "Corrina Corrina," and "Unforgettable.".
