iOS 16 has only been on the market for a short time. But Apple is already providing the second follow-up update.
iOS 16.1 is already in the beta test phase, but Apple is now pushing a minor interim update. As the company previously announced, the iOS 16.0.2 update fixes an issue with the camera in the iPhone 14 Pro.
This error makes the camera unusable in some apps.
iPhone 14 Pro users complain that the camera on social media apps suddenly starts rattling. The vibrating movement is so strong that recordings in apps like Instagram and Snapchat are entirely shaky.
The sound has also been compared to the buzzing of bees. This is due to an error in the SensorShift stabilization, which moves the entire camera sensor to avoid blurred images.
iOS 16.0.2 fixes several bugs
According to Apple, the update to iOS 16.0.2 contains bug fixes and critical security patches for the iPhone. The following bugs should have been fixed:
- The camera in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max vibrates and captures blurry images in third-party apps
- The display is entirely black during the setup process
- When copying and pasting between apps, a permission message appears more often than expected
- The VoiceOver reading function no longer works after a restart
- iPhone X, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 with a replacement display no longer recognize touch inputs
The iOS 16.0.2 update also includes the bug fixes that Apple shipped with iOS 16.0.1, including:
- iMessage and FaceTime cannot be activated
- On iPhone 14 Pro Max, photos may appear blurry when zoomed in landscape mode.
- Authentication fails for enterprise apps using single sign-on
